The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center is seeking a Quality Assurance & Improvement Specialist to join our team. This position is a terrific opportunity for someone to gain additional experience and make a difference in the lives of our clients.
For over 45 forty-five years, our organization has provided mental health and holistic services in northern Manhattan for families, children, adolescents, and other adults including the elderly in a supportive and caring environment. We also have an out-patient and residential substance abuse program as well as a Therapeutic Preschool for 3-5 year olds.
Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center is a Certified National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Quality Assurance & Improvement Specialist
Location: Emma L. Bowen CSC, 520 West 135th St., New York, NY 10031
Hours: Full-time - Hybrid, subjected to change

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review client medical records to identify documentation errors, omissions, and compliance concerns.
- Evaluate the quality, accuracy, and completeness of staff documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that identified deficiencies are corrected within established timeframes.
- Prepare and submit daily deficit reports for assigned programs.
- Conduct timely follow-up on previously submitted reports to ensure resolution of outstanding issues.
- Communicate and disseminate relevant findings to assigned programs and stakeholders across the organization.
- Participate in staff meetings, agency meetings, and weekly supervision sessions.
- Attend and actively engage in required training and professional development opportunities.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software efficiently and accurately.
- Provide coverage for chart reviews and deficit reporting for other programs in the absence of assigned staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the CCBHC Project Manager/Supervisor.
