Quality & Process Excellence Manager
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the quality framework for accounting and finance processes within the Shared Services organization. This role ensures process compliance, accuracy, effectiveness of internal controls, adherence to company policies, and achievement of service level commitments. The position will lead quality reviews, root cause analyses, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence across Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and other finance processes.
Main Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program for accounting operations.
- Define and maintain quality standards, metrics, and performance indicators.
- Conduct regular quality reviews and compliance assessments across finance processes.
- Monitor transaction accuracy, process adherence, and control effectiveness.
- Report quality performance trends and recommend corrective actions.
Process Governance and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, SOX requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Perform process audits and identify gaps, risks, and control deficiencies.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, External Audit, Controllership, and Compliance teams.
- Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control matrices.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead root cause analysis for quality issues, service failures, and recurring errors.
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process optimization.
- Support system implementations and process transformation projects.
Performance Management
- Establish dashboards and scorecards to monitor quality performance.
- Analyze trends, identify systemic issues, and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Measure process effectiveness through KPIs such as:
- Transaction accuracy
- First-pass yield
- Close cycle adherence
- Audit findings
- Rework rates
- SLA compliance
- Customer satisfaction
Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop a team of quality analysts and process specialists.
- Partner with finance operational leaders to improve process performance.
- Facilitate quality reviews with business stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, CIA, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance Operations, Shared Services, Audit, or Process Excellence.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting global shared services organizations preferred
Knowledge and Skills Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Record-to-Report (R2R)
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Order-to-Cash (O2C)
- Fixed Assets
- Intercompany Accounting
- Financial Close Processes
- Knowledge of SOX, internal controls, and audit methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
- Strong data analytics and reporting capabilities (Power BI, Excel, Tableau).
