Safety Manager

Position Summary


The Safety Manager leads the site safety program on a data center construction project, developing site-specific safety plans, conducting inspections, and enforcing compliance across all trades on a large, multi-contractor site. This role works directly with the superintendent and subcontractor safety representatives to identify hazards before they result in incidents and to maintain a project culture where every trade partner is accountable for safe work practices.


This is a field-based position supporting construction projects in North Louisiana, Virginia, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Project assignments and reporting locations will vary based on operational needs. Travel and/or temporary relocation may be required.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain the site-specific safety plan, including hazard analyses for civil, structural, and MEP scopes of work.
  • Conduct daily and weekly site safety inspections, documenting findings and tracking corrective actions to closure.
  • Review subcontractor safety plans, job hazard analyses, and permits for high-risk activities, including excavation, crane lifts, and energized electrical work.
  • Lead new-hire safety orientation and toolbox talks for all trades on site.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare incident reports, and lead root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements, including fall protection, confined space, and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
  • Maintain safety records, training certifications, and OSHA recordkeeping logs for the project.
  • Coordinate emergency action plans and lead emergency response drills for the site.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of quality control experience on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of inspection and test plan development and nonconformance management.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with quality documentation and reporting software.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience on a data center or other mission-critical construction project.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) credential.
  • Experience managing safety programs on multi-contractor sites with concurrent trade
    activity.


Work Environment


Full-time presence on an active construction site, including data halls, mechanical and electrical yards, and rooftops. Requires the ability to walk the full site throughout the day in all weather conditions, climb ladders and stairs, and wear standard personal protective equipment.
