Scheme Compliance Officer, (Visa & Spanish-Speaking)
The role monitors card scheme rules and compliance requirements, manages scheme inquiries and remediation, oversees TPA and PIF submissions, reviews marketing materials, advises product and operations teams, and supports AML/CTF, KYC/KYB, risk, and client review processes.
Responsibilities
- Monitor card scheme rule changes, bulletins, and compliance requirements.
- Handle scheme inquiries and remediation cases, including drafting responses and action plans.
- Monitor TPA and PIF submissions and resolve pending requirements with card schemes.
- Maintain TPA and PIF registries and track scheme requirements.
- Identify documentation gaps, classify findings, and track remediation to closure.
- Review TPA marketing materials against scheme standards and conduct post-publication compliance sweeps.
- Assist with periodic and annual client reviews.
- Advise Product, Operations, and Commercial teams on scheme compliance.
- Track Mexico BIN program compliance against risk thresholds, fraud metrics, and dispute requirements.
- Ensure scheme requirements are reflected in AML/CTF, KYC/KYB, and transaction monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with the global Scheme Compliance team to improve processes across jurisdictions.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in scheme compliance, card scheme oversight, payment card regulation, or a related role.
- Working knowledge of Scheme Rules and ability to translate them into sustainable SOPs and policies.
- Familiarity with TPA registration, PIF submissions, or scheme program approvals.
- Experience conducting third-party due diligence reviews in regulated payments.
- Strong written Spanish and English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage competing priorities.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, scaling fintech environment.
- Familiarity with Mexico’s financial services regulatory environment is a plus.
- Experience with BIN sponsorship, Cards-as-a-Service, or fintech card programs is a plus.
