Scrum Master/Agile Delivery Lead
Location: Onsite – Bedford, TX with optional remote Fridays
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Chief Information Officer
Position Summary
The Scrum Master is a hands-on Agile delivery leader responsible for helping development, operations, and support teams plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality outcomes. The role goes beyond facilitating Scrum ceremonies and requires a strong understanding of the work teams are delivering, the dependencies and stakeholders that affect delivery, and the risks or impediments that may impact commitments.
This position is particularly focused on supporting an Information Technology organization that is continuing to establish and mature its Agile/Scrum practices. The Scrum Master will help strengthen release planning, roadmap visibility, backlog and work-flow discipline, cross-team coordination, and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires the ability to meet teams where they are, introduce practical Agile practices without over-engineering the process, and build sustainable delivery habits over time.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Facilitate and continuously improve Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews/demos, and retrospectives.
- Develop a working understanding of the products, systems, enhancements, and operational work being delivered by each supported team so that dependencies, risks, stakeholders, and required decision-makers can be identified early.
- Support teams in defining clear sprint goals, priorities, scope, acceptance expectations, and ownership while promoting accountability for commitments and outcomes.
- Partner with technical leaders, product/business stakeholders, and team members to strengthen release planning, roadmap visibility, milestone coordination, and readiness for upcoming work.
- Manage and coordinate dependencies across multiple development, operations, support, and business functions; bring the appropriate stakeholders together to resolve issues and maintain delivery momentum.
- Identify, track, and help remove blockers, delivery risks, cycle delays, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies; escalate material risks appropriately to leadership.
- Maintain clear visibility into priorities, status, dependencies, timelines, risks, and delivery progress using Jira and other approved tools.
- Support consistent Jira usage, including backlog organization, boards, workflows, sprint/release tracking, dashboards, and reporting practices that improve transparency and decision-making.
- Support Agile delivery for Salesforce-related initiatives and the organization's transition toward Salesforce, including coordination of work, dependencies, releases, and stakeholder readiness.
- Lead and improve technical support work-management practices, including intake, prioritization, work-in-progress visibility, ticket flow, aging, resolution progress, and service-level awareness.
- Apply Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid Agile approaches appropriately based on the nature of the work rather than applying ceremonies or frameworks mechanically.
- Facilitate communication and alignment between technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and other key partners.
- Coach teams and stakeholders on practical Agile behaviors, delivery discipline, continuous improvement, and effective use of planning and work-management practices.
- Use delivery metrics and team observations to identify opportunities for improvement and help teams implement sustainable changes.
- Perform responsibilities in a manner consistent with DOT Compliance Group's purpose and core values.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
