Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Scrum Master to join our team. The ideal candidate will have very strong experience as a Scrum Master and will support fully remote teams working as a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART) with distributed team members globally.
This role involves working within TJX’s Global Buying Tools ART, supporting delivery of releases across all geos for our on-prem and cloud-based solutions that facilitate our Buyers when sourcing TJX merchandise.
The Scrum Master will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery within a scrum team, ensuring planned commitments are delivered on time and to expected quality.
Skills & Knowledge:
A Scrum Master is a servant leader on an Agile team and is responsible for educating and coaching their team on Agile processes.
The Scrum Master is also responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives within their team and therefore displays a working knowledge of SAFe, Kanban, Scrum and XP principles.
Supports impediment removals and fosters an environment that builds and supports a high performing team.
Monitors team progress.
Partners with the Product Owner and Product Manager to ensure the product backlog is continuously refined and work is prioritized and scheduled.
Accountable for delivering value to the business and stakeholders.
Supports the TJX Solution Delivery Process (SDP) while adhering to Compliance guidelines.
A Scrum Master typically has experience in at least 1 domain and is assigned to support one team.
Job Responsibilities:
Supports team impediment removal and dependency tracking
Facilitates Agile team ceremonies e.g., daily standups, reviews, retrospectives
Ensures team agreements are in place
Drives team iteration commitments and plan to maximize business value delivery
Collaborates with other Scrum Masters across the ART as necessary e.g., Scrum of Scrums
Coordinates with other teams as necessary, for example Shared Services or DevOps team
Key Partner with the Product Owner to ensure product backlog items are refined, prioritized and scheduled
Supports estimating activities within the team
May support Release Planning
Responsible for facilitating capacity planning
Reviews metrics to measure team progress and is responsible for achieving baseline KPI
Validates time tracking
Tracks team objectives using appropriate Agile tools/applications
Protects team from external interference
Supports ART Readiness/Preparations
May provide Flow Board Management if supporting a Kanban team
May be an Epic Owner
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent delivery skillset, training, or technical work experience (required)
Strong number of years’ experience as a scrum master
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SAFe framework.
A mindset for continuous process improvement, driven by a focus on delivering value through efficiency with excellent planning, facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
Ability to influence effectively with and without formal authority.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowing your audience.
Proven success working in a highly collaborative, matrix environment, with a track record of measurable business impact.
Experience working in hybrid scrum and waterfall environments.
Capability to demonstrate critical thinking and proven track record of positive change.
Solid understanding of agile methodology, scrum, SAFe, and agile tools (JIRA, Confluence)
Ability to work collaboratively with distributed team members.
