Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 per year
About the role
Viden are seeking an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join our growing cyber security team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex security problems, improving defensive capabilities, and working across a diverse range of technologies and environments.
You will be responsible for supporting the operation, engineering and continuous improvement of security technologies and controls, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, network security, identity and access management, logging and monitoring platforms for a critical Government network.
Key responsibilities
Investigating and responding to security events
Developing detection and monitoring capabilities
Performing vulnerability analysis
Supporting incident response activities
Tuning security tools
Automating operational security tasks
Assisting clients and internal teams to strengthen their security posture
About you
10+ Years of SOC, cyber security or network engineering experience
Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, networking and cloud environments
Experience deploying and refining SIEM, EDR/XDR technologies
Understanding of incident response, threat detection and SOC operations
Scripting or automation skills such as PowerShell or Python
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
Experience with the ISM, Essential Eight, PSPF or DSPF
Diploma or above in Cyber Security or Network Engineering
Micro-credentials such as GCED, GMON, GCIA, CGIH are all highly regarded
Minimum NV1 Security Clearance
Must be an Australian Citizen
