We're looking for a Senior ABAP Developer - SAP to join KiwiRail's ERP and Asset Services team in Wellington.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SAP developer to contribute to KiwiRail's digital transformation by designing, developing, and supporting enterprise SAP solutions across a complex operational environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and enhancing SAP ABAP solutions across KiwiRail's ERP landscape
  • Building and supporting integrations, interfaces, workflows, and custom developments
  • Working across SAP modules including FI-CO, MM, PM, PP, Projects, SD, HR CATS, and RE-FX
  • Supporting SAP security, authorisations, transports, and user onboarding
  • Translating business requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Participating in testing, releases, deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing expert technical support and resolving complex application issues

Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What you will bring:

  • 10+ years' experience developing and supporting SAP ABAP solutions in enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in ABAP Objects, IDocs, BAPIs, Enhancements, SmartForms, SAPScript, BW Extractors, and Workflows
  • Experience supporting SAP ECC6 across multiple functional modules
  • Knowledge of SAP security, authorisations, and transport management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
