Senior AI Engineer
Work alongside founders and the senior team to turn AI-assisted prototypes into reliable production systems for Brain by AIVM, with substantial ownership over core product areas.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship core product features, systems, and infrastructure.
- Turn fast-moving AI-assisted prototypes into reliable, scalable, production-grade software.
- Own architecture, security, quality, and technical direction across major product areas.
- Use Codex, Claude Code, and modern AI coding agents to increase engineering output.
- Direct and evaluate agentic development workflows with strong human oversight.
- Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, review practices, and AI-native workflows.
- Work with founders on product, strategy, technical tradeoffs, and execution.
- Debug complex issues and make high-judgment technical decisions.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Experience owning systems used by real users, including incidents, scale, reliability, and maintainability.
- Daily use of AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
- Ability to use AI agents while maintaining control over quality, security, and architecture.
- Deep software engineering fundamentals in architecture, debugging, system design, and code quality.
- Strong security instincts and ability to identify risks in AI-generated code.
- Excellent judgment about AI tool capabilities, hallucinations, and the need for human expertise.
- Strong ownership mindset and comfort with responsibility, ambiguity, and difficult technical problems.
- Startup, 0-to-1, founder, first-engineer, or early-stage product experience.
