A major bank in Sydney is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with strong hands on software development experience as well as ansible and python to join their team on a permanent basis.

- Design deploy, operate, and enhance the software platforms and automation systems that underpin modern network engineering.
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and Python.
- Work with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to deliver automation capabilities.
- Transform complex network workflows into scalable, reliable internal tools and services that improve operational efficiency and resilience.
- Collaborate closely with network engineers to understand challenges, develop innovative solutions, and continuously improve how large-scale networks are managed and automated.
- This is a software-first role focused on building robust automation frameworks, platforms, and testing capabilities that support day-to-day network operations.
- Strong python and ansible experience
- Demonstrated hands-on software development experience
- Experience building applications in the networking domain is highly desirable
- Understanding of operating systems, Linux, and container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Ability to write database queries, with working knowledge of MongoDB is desirable
