What are some of the day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete?

  • Lead test strategy, automation architecture, and quality practices across multiple systems, products, and teams.
  • Contribute to shaping the overall quality approach, ensuring that testing is aligned with business objectives, technical standards, and delivery outcomes.
  • Establish scalable and maintainable automation frameworks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and promote the adoption of modern testing practices.
  • Embed quality thinking throughout the software development lifecycle, partnering closely with developers, analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to identify risks early and build quality into every stage of delivery.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, helping to uplift testing capability, strengthen automation skills, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Balance delivery priorities with quality outcomes, making informed decisions that support both short-term objectives and long-term sustainability.
  • Champion robust test design, reliable automation, and effective quality governance, ensuring that solutions are resilient, maintainable, and fit for purpose.

What technical skills are required for this role?
We are looking for senior experience in quality engineering with demonstrated expertise in automation practices. You will also bring:

  • Proven capability in designing and implementing test strategies, frameworks, and tooling across one or more technology domains, including backend, frontend, mobile, integration, or performance engineering.
  • Leadership in automation strategy and solution design with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgement in balancing quality, risk, and delivery outcomes.
  • A sound understanding of automation test strategy, strong quality engineering experience, and practical knowledge of tools such as REST Assured and JMeter.
  • Experience in Designing and delivering resilient, scalable testing solutions that embed both functional and non-functional quality considerations throughout the software development lifecycle.
