Senior Back-end Java Developer (Spring Boot, Microservices)
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot, Microservices) in Singapore. You will build and support Java 21 microservices for banking platforms, shaping API design, resilience and secure coding. Join a cross-functional Agile team where quality gates and automation are part of how you ship.
Responsibilities
- Design and build Java 21 microservices using Spring Boot
- Deliver REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
- Drive service and API design, data modeling and technical decisions
- Implement resilience patterns, validation, security and transaction handling
- Build persistence layers using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
- Create unit and integration tests and improve test coverage
- Improve code quality using automated checks and peer reviews
- Partner with DevOps to deploy and support services on OpenShift
Requirements
- Java 21 expertise including recent long-term support versions (Java twenty-one on this project)
- Spring Boot capability across the Spring Framework ecosystem
- Microservices architecture knowledge including distributed systems fundamentals
- REST API development experience including integration design
- Spring Data and Spring Data JPA skill sets for persistence
- Hibernate or equivalent Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) experience
- SQL proficiency with a relational database such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL
- Containers exposure with OpenShift or Kubernetes plus Git and build tooling (Maven or Gradle)
Nice to have
- Spring Cloud, Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Observability tools such as OpenSearch, Elastic Stack, Grafana or AppDynamics
- Banking or financial services domain exposure
