Senior Compliance Manager
Support the Head of Compliance and lead the Compliance Framework and Program for Afterpay ANZ. The role covers governance, regulatory licensing, risk management, monitoring, reporting, audits, testing, incident management, regulatory obligations, product assessments, compliance records, education, and risk reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Compliance and ensure the Compliance Function and Risk Management Framework operate effectively.
- Lead and maintain the Compliance Framework, policies, standards, procedures, and Compliance Program.
- Build and maintain governance, risk, and compliance frameworks for regulated financial services products.
- Maintain the Australian Credit Licence and submit annual compliance certificate requirements to ASIC.
- Manage monitoring, reporting, audit, and testing activities for regulators, the Board, and governance committees.
- Manage compliance incidents, reportable situation assessments, regulatory projects, product compliance risk assessments, and compliance records.
- Educate business stakeholders on compliance risks and advise management and business partners on compliance programs.
- Report on compliance risks, trends, and key performance metrics and drive a strong risk culture.
Requirements
- 15+ years of compliance and risk experience in Australian financial services environments.
- Experience building and maintaining frameworks for regulated financial services products.
- Experience managing regulatory interactions, investigations, information requests, audits, and management action plans.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Deep knowledge of financial services regulation, including consumer credit, BNPL, payment systems, licensing, AML, collections, consumer protection, and conduct obligations.
- Experience overseeing incident and issue remediation and escalating matters to appropriate teams or regulators.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and influence cross-functionally and globally.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Passion for compliance and its contribution to business and community outcomes.
- Data and technical focus, including the ability to analyze and operationalize emerging regulatory obligations and use innovative tools such as AI.
