Senior Data Engineer
This role focuses on designing, building, orchestrating, and maintaining data pipelines for blockchain and network telemetry. It includes ad hoc analysis, data quality and observability improvements, data products, dashboards, KPIs, and SQL interfaces for self-service analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, orchestrate, and maintain data pipelines for Stellar network telemetry.
- Conduct ad hoc data analysis to clean, transform, and distill insights.
- Improve observability, maintainability, quality, and freshness of data marts.
- Translate business and community requests into data products and analytics.
- Enable self-service analytics through dashboards, KPIs, and SQL interfaces.
- Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to instrument, monitor, and troubleshoot data sources and ETL systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional data engineering, ML, or software engineering experience.
- Experience with modern data warehousing and ETL frameworks such as dbt, Fivetran, Databricks, or Talend.
- Ability to analyze large datasets using SQL.
- Experience with ETL schedulers such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, or AWS Glue.
- Programming experience in Python or Golang.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex data insights.
- Enthusiasm for working on a small, growing team.
- Cloud data stack experience, preferably GCP.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience administering BI tools and building visualizations.
- Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and quality control.
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and Soroban.
