Senior Data Engineer with GCP
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to a GCP-based data platform initiative. This role centers on developing and maintaining data pipelines and analytics infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, helping build a scalable and reliable data ecosystem that drives reporting and analytics across the company.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines leveraging Dataflow on GCP
- Develop and fine-tune data models and queries within BigQuery
- Create and maintain reporting and analytics layers with Looker (or comparable BI tooling)
- Contribute to the design and ongoing evolution of the wider GCP Data Platform
- Apply data governance best practices, covering access controls, data quality, lineage, and documentation across pipelines and datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert data requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Monitor and resolve issues related to data pipeline performance and reliability
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering
- Understanding of GCP-based data platform architecture
- Proficiency in BigQuery, covering schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Expertise in Dataflow for developing batch and/or streaming data pipelines
- Familiarity with Looker or comparable BI/analytics tooling
- Skills in SQL and knowledge of data engineering fundamentals (ETL/ELT, data modeling)
- Fluent Spanish speaker with English at B2 level to support team collaboration
Nice to have
- Background in data governance practices, spanning access management, data cataloging, and lineage
- Familiarity with compliance considerations relevant to data platforms
