Senior Data Scientist / Analyst, Finance
Build and own the financial reporting layer used for close, forecasting, board reporting, and investor reporting. Reconcile general ledger and platform data, analyze fees, incentives, promotions, revenue, and retention, and create reliable recurring reports in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the financial reporting layer in the data warehouse.
- Reconcile general ledger and platform data.
- Translate transaction, fee, and trading activity into financial reports.
- Analyze fee structures and their effects on volume, revenue, and trader behavior.
- Measure the return on incentives and promotions.
- Partner with finance on monthly close and variance analysis.
- Support forecasts and investor reporting.
- Replace ad hoc requests with recurring reporting.
- Write end-to-end documentation.
Requirements
- 7+ years in data analysis, data science, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- Production experience building finance reporting.
- Expert SQL.
- Experience with causal inference, quasi-experimental methods, or predictive modeling.
- Python or R.
- Knowledge of general ledger structure, accruals, and revenue recognition.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or ClickHouse.
- Strong financial reconciliation and accuracy skills.
- Experience working across finance and engineering.
- Experience in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience with dbt or similar transformation tooling is a plus.
- Familiarity with on-chain data or crypto accounting is a plus.
- Experience in fintech, crypto, prediction markets, or other data-intensive financial products is a plus.
