Senior Data Scientist, Business Analytics
Own data end to end, including data infrastructure, models, dashboards, reporting pipelines, self-service tools, experiment tracking, statistical analysis, stakeholder metrics, and privacy-conscious analytical approaches. Partner with product, engineering, finance, marketing, and leadership to support rigorous decisions under uncertainty.
Responsibilities
- Own data sourcing, storage, access, and querying end to end
- Build data infrastructure, tooling, dashboards, models, and reporting pipelines
- Consolidate financial, product, and growth data into shared systems
- Support experiment tracking and monitoring systems
- Answer strategic business and product questions with rigorous analysis
- Identify analytical gaps and create self-service tools for decision-makers
- Partner with engineering to instrument products thoughtfully
- Work with finance on business metrics and marketing on growth attribution
- Define robust metrics that separate trends from noise
- Protect user privacy by avoiding unnecessary data collection
Requirements
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience
- Experience with messy, incomplete, or deliberately constrained data
- Experience with quasi-experiments, proxy metrics, qualitative triangulation, and decision frameworks
- Fluency in SQL
- Ability to write production-quality code
- Experience building data pipelines, models, and tooling
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and modern analytics stacks
- Experience with PostHog for product analytics
- Experience with Postgres for data storage and querying
- Familiarity with Rust, TypeScript, Go, or Python
- Ability to communicate analytical uncertainty clearly to executives
- Understanding of privacy-focused data collection and data ethics
