Senior Developer Relations Engineer

Amplify public security work and deepen relationships with security practitioners, researchers, maintainers, and open-source communities. The role combines community development, technical content, conference participation, open-source support, developer education, and hands-on software contributions.

Responsibilities

• Grow relationships across the security community and establish new ones
• Attend and speak at security conferences and cybersecurity meetups
• Support open-source projects and maintainers
• Facilitate technical office hours connecting maintainers with engineers
• Turn research and releases into advisories, writeups, and reusable guidance
• Optimize tools, skills, and plugins for adoption
• Teach security methods through workshops and hands-on sessions
• Publish deep dives, tutorials, and technical write-ups
• Help engineers identify, prepare, and deliver conference talks
• Run published work against unfamiliar code and provide feedback
• Ship runnable examples and workflow integrations
• Improve project onboarding, documentation, and first-run experiences
• Attract external contributors and encourage continued contributions
• Communicate practitioner needs, research gaps, and emerging ecosystems internally

Requirements

• Build and ship software such as tools, libraries, integrations, skills, or agents
• Read unfamiliar code, run analyzers, and open merged pull requests
• Have deep hands-on security experience, typically seven or more years
• Build with agentic tooling including skills, agents, MCP servers, harnesses, and evals
• Have a public body of work including talks, posts, upstream contributions, research, or documentation
• Possess credibility within security and open-source communities
• Demonstrate strong technical writing and public speaking ability
• Make and defend decisions under ambiguity
• Experience maintaining or meaningfully contributing to open-source projects
• Depth in application security, blockchain and cryptography, AI/ML security, or low-level systems research
• Experience running or programming a community venue at meaningful scale
• Contributions to developer documentation shipped alongside code
• Involvement with open-source foundations, grant programs, or maintainer initiatives
• Willingness to travel approximately one quarter of the year
