Senior/Executive, Key Account (Global Shipping Liner)

At the core of their global network is a dominant, highly successful Intra-Asia presence. To further strengthen this vital trade lane, they are seeking a high-caliber commercial professional to join their Singapore headquarters.

Position Purpose

As a Key Account Executive/Senior Executive focusing on the Intra-Asia trade lane, you will be responsible for managing, retaining, and expanding a portfolio of premium regional accounts and BCOs (Beneficial Cargo Owners). You will act as the strategic bridge between the clients and the trade management teams to maximize volume, optimize yield, and secure long-term cargo commitments within the fast-growing Intra-Asia network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Growth: Manage a dedicated portfolio of key regional accounts, driving volume and revenue growth to meet and exceed assigned trade lane KPIs.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead the negotiation of freight rates, service contracts, and volume commitments for short-term and long-term Intra-Asia tenders.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor blank sailings, rate movements, and supply/demand dynamics within the Intra-Asia corridor to identify new business opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Trade Management, Space Allocation, and Equipment Control teams to ensure optimal vessel utilization and yield management.
  • Performance Tracking: Analyze account performance metrics regularly, address service gaps, and conduct business reviews with key clients to ensure high retention and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Executive: Minimum 2–3 years of commercial sales or account management experience within the container shipping (liner) or global freight forwarding industry.
  • Senior Executive: 4+ years of proven track record, with a heavy emphasis on handling large-scale BCO or key forwarder accounts.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong, demonstrable familiarity with the Intra-Asia trade lane, port rotations, and market pricing dynamics.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. High proficiency in data analysis and CRM tools.
  • Attributes: Proactive, resilient, and thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
