Senior Intelligence Analyst, Iran Focus

Serve as the subject-matter expert on Iran and the IRGC by attributing Iranian crypto activity, tracing on-chain networks, producing finished intelligence, representing the organization externally, guiding data collection, translating threat typologies into detection, building AI-supported workflows, and developing Iran and threat-finance expertise.

Responsibilities

• Own Iran attribution end to end.
• Lead attribution responses to Iran-related sanctions events.
• Map Iranian networks on-chain.
• Produce finished intelligence for customers, partners, and publications.
• Represent Chainalysis as an external expert on Iran crypto threats.
• Set the Iran collection agenda.
• Translate Iranian typologies into detection guidance.
• Design and tune AI automation.
• Develop Iran and threat-finance tradecraft across the team.

Requirements

• Deep, demonstrable Iran expertise, including IRGC and IRGC-Qods Force knowledge.
• On-chain tracing ability against Iranian targets.
• National-security or threat-finance experience.
• Strong understanding of Iranian geopolitics, proxy networks, and regional financial flows.
• Exceptional aptitude, judgment, work ethic, and end-to-end leadership.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• AI-forward instincts and automation experience.
• Comfort working with data; blockchain forensics experience preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience for a Senior hire; 8+ years and recognized domain authority for a Staff hire.
