Senior Investment Analyst
A reputable Family Office in Kuwait is looking to hire a Senior Investment Analyst to join its International Investment Department.
Job Description
Overview:
The Senior Investment Analyst will play a key role in the evaluation and management of the family office's diversified investment portfolio, including public equities, fixed income, structured products and alternative investments. The role involves conducting in-depth financial analysis, monitoring portfolio performance, supporting asset allocation decisions, and providing investment recommendations aligned with the family's long-term financial objectives and values.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Identify and evaluate direct and indirect investment opportunities across asset classes, including equities, fixed income, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, digital assets and structured products.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including building and maintaining financial models (DCF, LBO, IRR scenarios, sensitivity testing) and preparing comparative valuation assessments.
• Perform stock selection and provide investment recommendations by integrating technical analysis with fundamental research, ensuring alignment with the investment objectives, risk profile, and asset allocation strategy of each portfolio.
• Perform qualitative due diligence on fund managers, including track record assessment, team background, strategy alignment, and operational setup.
• Participate in manager meetings and calls and present the findings to management.
• Monitor the performance of existing investments against benchmarks, expected return targets, and risk parameters.
• Track portfolio-level allocations, exposures (by asset class, geography, sector), and liquidity buckets.
• Identify performance deviations and assist in preparing remedial action plans for underperforming investments.
• Prepare periodic reports for management.
• Support the Investment Committee in defining long-term strategic and tactical asset allocation, incorporating macroeconomic outlook and capital market assumptions.
• Evaluate co-investment or opportunistic ideas that align with the family’s long-term goals.
• Prepare investment policy documentation and support regular reviews in collaboration with CIO.
• Maintain a database of market updates, fund manager insights, economic indicators, and regulatory developments relevant to the portfolio.
• Attend industry events, conferences, and webinars to expand the family office’s access to investment networks and thought leadership.
• Train the junior analysts in the department, supervise their tasks and work with HR on their career development and training plans.
• Proactively develop new relationships for fund managers, banks and service providers.
• Help with the automation of databases and market updates for better work efficiency.
• Prepare the manual for the department describing the investment and monitoring process.
• Any other duties may be assigned by your supervisor.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
• CFA charter holder or working toward CFA designation is highly desirable.
• 7+ years of experience in investment analysis, private banking, asset management, or family office roles.
• Strong knowledge of financial modeling, valuation methods, and investment due diligence.
• Experience working with alternative investments, private equity, or real estate is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in Excel, VBA, Bloomberg, and financial databases. Familiarity with reporting tools or portfolio management systems is an asset.
