Senior Legal Counsel Commercial and Trading

Provide legal advice across commercial, regulatory, product, technology, trading, privacy, and data protection matters. Draft, review, and negotiate trading documentation and commercial agreements, advise on financial services regulation across multiple jurisdictions, and independently manage complex cross-border projects and strategic transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to Regulation, Product, R&D, Marketing, HR, Finance, and administrative functions.
• Draft and advise on terms and conditions, trading agreements, and documentation for financial products.
• Advise on financial services regulation across Europe, the UK, the US, Australia, and other jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with local counsel when required.
• Draft, review, and negotiate M&A, joint venture, partnership, investment, financing, broker, and asset purchase agreements.
• Draft and negotiate software, services, consultancy, procurement, marketing, IT, intellectual property, and data privacy agreements.
• Manage cross-border legal projects and strategic transactions.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with an LLB, JD, or equivalent.
• Admission to practice in an EU, UK, or other common-law jurisdiction.
• 7–10 years of legal experience.
• In-house experience at a fintech or financial services company.
• Experience drafting and negotiating trading-related agreements.
• Knowledge of EU and UK financial services regulation.
• Experience managing complex cross-border projects and strategic partnerships.
• Native or near-native English with excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Commercial, analytical, detail-focused, service-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with M&A, joint ventures, investment transactions, or non-EU/UK financial services regimes is advantageous.
