Senior Legal Counsel LATAM
In-house legal counsel responsible for commercial contracting, corporate governance for Mexican entities, multi-jurisdictional regulatory and compliance strategy, financial licensing, and pragmatic legal advice on operational, product, and strategic matters.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate B2B, SaaS, API licensing, payment network, and strategic partnership agreements.
- Support corporate governance and compliance requirements for Mexican entities.
- Navigate regulatory frameworks covering payments, digital assets, and data privacy.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining financial licenses across key markets.
- Provide business-oriented legal advice on operational, product, and strategic issues.
- Collaborate with product, finance, compliance, and risk teams to assess and mitigate legal risks.
Requirements
- LLB, JD, or equivalent degree with qualification to practice law in Mexico.
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
- Business-fluent Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
- Familiarity with Mexican regulatory regimes for payments, financial products, and virtual assets.
- Strong project management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and navigate ambiguity.
