Senior Liquidity Risk Manager
Own the design, implementation, and ongoing oversight of Upvest's liquidity risk framework for a BaFin-regulated investment firm operating across Europe. Lead quantitative modeling, risk analysis, mitigation strategies, risk controls, high-impact tooling projects, regulatory inquiries, and cross-functional risk initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead quantitative modeling and analyze liquidity, funding, and stress-testing risk data for ILAAP.
- Design and implement mitigation strategies and risk controls across core business processes.
- Own high-impact risk projects, including next-generation risk model and tool deployment.
- Advise senior leadership, external partners, and regulators on complex financial risks.
- Mentor junior team members and lead cross-departmental initiatives across IT GRC, Outsourcing, Finance, Compliance, and Operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of risk management or treasury experience within a regulated bank or financial institution.
- Strong understanding of European and BaFin regulatory frameworks including CRR, LCR, NSFR, ILAAP, and MaRisk.
- Hands-on experience with quantitative risk models and cash-flow forecasting tools; SQL and Python are a plus.
- Experience driving complex cross-functional projects in IT GRC, Outsourcing, or Compliance.
- Ability to mentor colleagues and communicate complex financial risks to executives and external partners.
- Fluency in English; German is a strong advantage.
- Experience bridging Financial Risk and Non-Financial or Operational Risk frameworks.
- Experience in a high-growth fintech scale-up is desirable.
