Senior Manager, Environmental Planning
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental programs, systems, and compliance strategies for hyperscale data center campuses and integrated power generation assets. Oversee environmental due diligence, screening frameworks, risk integration, governance tools, construction assurance, compliance dashboards, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee preliminary environmental assessments, wetland delineations, water and biological surveys, and air permit analyses.
- Develop and maintain standardized pre-project environmental screening frameworks and risk matrices.
- Translate environmental constraints into actionable guidance for land acquisition and corporate development teams.
- Establish scalable environmental programs, policies, and KPIs aligned with sustainability goals.
- Create and maintain environmental tools, templates, and workflows.
- Oversee stormwater management, environmental audits, and construction compliance tracking.
- Develop documentation systems, regulatory correspondence tracking, and environmental metrics dashboards.
- Communicate environmental risks and opportunities to internal teams and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in environmental planning, permitting, and program management.
- Experience managing environmental compliance and permitting for large-scale industrial construction projects.
- Experience with Phase I ESAs, wetland assessments, water rights, biological and species screenings, and cultural resource reviews.
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Experience working with business development, real estate, and project finance teams.
- Ability to travel up to 25–45% to project sites, corporate offices, and regulatory meetings.
