Senior Manager of Curriculum Design KID Museum

This position is no longer accepting applications(closed Aug 30, 2026).

Do you believe every kid deserves access to hands-on, maker-centered STEM learning? So do we.

KID Museum is looking for a Senior Manager of Curriculum Design to help bridge the gap between our innovative museum experiences and the classrooms, after-school programs, and community spaces where young people spend their time.

This is a role for someone who gets fired up about equitable STEM access, loves the craft of writing curriculum that actually works in real-world settings, and can translate maker-based learning into something a teacher picks up and immediately trusts.

What You'll Do

You'll report to our Managing Director of Teaching & Learning and work across our Program, School & District Partnerships, and Community Experience teams to build high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum that connects:

  • Our Mind of a Maker pedagogical approach
  • Hands-on, inquiry-based learning
  • NGSS, Common Core, ISTE, and other K-12 standards

Day to day, that looks like designing teacher-facing curriculum, student-facing materials, and digital resources. It also means supporting program facilitation plans, collaborating with Marketing on classroom-ready products, and staying current on emerging trends in education (including AI and computational thinking).

You'll spend up to 30% of your time supporting on-site programming, staying grounded in the real work.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor's degree in education, engineering, or sciences (advanced degree or instructional design experience is a plus)
  • 5+ years in K-12 curriculum design, or 7+ years in the classroom
  • Deep knowledge of STEM content and culturally sustaining pedagogy
  • Experience with maker learning tools: coding, robotics, textiles, woodworking, electronics
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to calibrate tone and complexity for any grade level
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple timelines without dropping the ball

What Makes You the Right Fit

You're not just good at writing curriculum. You care deeply about who it's written for. You bring a commitment to expanding access to STEM for students who have been historically left out of these spaces. You thrive in collaborative environments and know how to work across teams to get something from idea to polished product.

We'd love to hear from educators, curriculum designers, and maker-learning advocates ready to do meaningful work.
