Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting
Lead SEC and financial reporting at Figure, including preparation of public-company filings, disclosures, internal controls, regulatory support, technical accounting guidance, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and timely filing of 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and other SEC reports.
- Prepare or review financial statement schedules, footnotes, MD&A, disclosure checklists, and tie-out documentation.
- Maintain the reporting calendar and coordinate deliverables with legal, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements and best practices across the reporting function.
- Help establish and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls over financial reporting.
- Prepare management, investor, and Audit Committee materials.
- Support regulator inquiries and analyze financial data for trends, anomalies, risks, and improvements.
- Research accounting standards and SEC requirements and provide technical accounting guidance.
- Partner with executive leadership, legal, investor relations, auditors, and finance teams.
- Support ad hoc financial reporting initiatives and strategic projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA certification.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in leadership or management.
- Deep SEC reporting experience, including 10-K, 10-Q, and public-company financial statement preparation.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting best practices.
- Public-company reporting experience.
- Workiva experience required; NetSuite experience preferred.
- Public company and Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
- Fintech, technology, or high-growth industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate technical information, manage projects, work independently, and coordinate across teams and time zones.
- Compliance with security policies, data handling procedures, and security training requirements.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; Figure will not sponsor work visas.
