Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Payments Orchestration

Lead the team responsible for crafting, delivering, and scaling Ripple's Payments Orchestration layer while ensuring secure, compliant, reliable, and globally scalable customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, hire, and lead a high-performing Payments Orchestration engineering team.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Services, Compliance, and engineering teams to deliver payment-processing capabilities.
• Build payment orchestration systems for global scale and diverse regulatory requirements.
• Define and implement a technical roadmap balancing near-term delivery with long-term architectural durability.
• Champion engineering excellence in design, testing, security, observability, and operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Engineering Manager leading high-performing teams delivering scalable distributed systems.
• Experience using Generative AI or Agentic workflows to accelerate development, automation, or innovation.
• Experience managing engineering teams of 10 or more engineers.
• Hands-on experience building distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Strength guiding teams through system migrations and legacy decoupling.
• Ability to align engineering, product, compliance, and legal stakeholders around technical strategy.
• Experience delivering reliable, auditable, compliant platforms in regulated environments.
• Experience scaling teams and capabilities across regions and regulatory frameworks.
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to improve and scale complex systems.
• Ability to thrive with autonomy and responsibility.
• Preferred: understanding of Java Spring, microservice architecture, and AWS.
