About the project

The project is a closed-loop wellness platform: a member mobile app, an advisor operations console, and a back office, on top of a deterministic scoring engine, a rules engine, and an integration layer. The central challenge is integration: consolidating around a dozen production systems (EMR, wearables, labs, billing, messaging) into one experience while handling Protected Health Information (PHI) end to end.

We start with a discovery phase and move into delivery, aiming for a limited pilot with a small cohort of members, with further phases planned afterward. The delivery team includes a Product Owner, Tech Lead, Mobile Engineer, two Backend/Integration Engineers, two Web Frontend Engineers, and a UI/UX Designer. You own the Member App end to end on iOS and Android: the daily member experience covering scores, today's plan, exercise, habits, supplements, appointments, wearable data, labs, messaging, and notifications.

Requirements

• 6+ years in mobile engineering, including 3+ years with React Native and production Expo/EAS delivery
• Shipped and maintained apps on the App Store and Google Play, including release troubleshooting
• Strong TypeScript and React Native architecture: navigation, state and data layer, offline and poor-network behavior
• Native module and third-party SDK integration, push notifications, and deep links
• Automated unit, component, and integration testing, plus practical device testing across current iOS and Android versions
• Secure local storage, token and session handling, PHI-safe logging, redaction, crash reporting controls, and privacy-aware analytics
• Product judgment for high-trust health UX: able to challenge unclear states and work directly with design and product owners
• Ready to own the whole Member App rather than isolated screens
• English B2+, comfortable in a client-facing team; meaningful overlap with US business hours
• Full-time availability, dedicated to this engagement

Responsibilities

• Own the React Native/Expo codebase end to end: navigation, state and data layer, offline and poor-network behavior, and the Expo/EAS release pipeline through App Store and Google Play readiness
• Integrate managed authentication aligned with the approved BAA-capable identity architecture, API contracts, PHI-safe push notifications, deep links, and privacy-safe analytics
• Integrate HealthKit and Health Connect plus selected wearable and health-data aggregator SDKs without health-data leakage
• Implement score preview and what-if flows using the shared TypeScript scoring package, treating server computation as authoritative
• Build reusable, testable UI for score confidence, daily actions, schedules, logs, messaging, errors, consent changes, and accessibility states
• Use Firebase and similar mobile platform services where appropriate for non-PHI application operations
• Use and evolve the AI-assisted, spec-driven development workflows established by the Tech Lead
• Partner with backend and web engineers on contract tests, shared types, feature flags, test data, and pilot telemetry
