Senior.NET Software Engineer (AI Powered)
We're partnering with an innovative technology organisation that is pushing the boundaries of AI-assisted software development and looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a highly experienced engineering team.
This isn't a traditional software engineering role.
We're seeking someone who has been at the forefront of applying AI to real-world software delivery. Someone who understands not only how to generate code with AI tools, but how to critically assess, guide and improve AI-generated outcomes to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions.

About the Role
You'll join a highly experienced engineering team working on a major platform uplift initiative. The environment is heavily invested in AI-assisted development and is focused on accelerating delivery while maintaining engineering quality and resilience.
This role is less about writing every line of code yourself and more about leveraging AI effectively, validating outputs, reviewing generated code and specifications, and helping engineering teams get the most from modern AI tooling.
You'll play a key role in ensuring AI-generated solutions are production-ready, scalable and aligned with sound software engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of experienced software engineers delivering large-scale software solutions
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate software delivery across the development lifecycle
- Review, validate and refine AI-generated code, architecture and technical specifications
- Guide AI agents towards better outcomes through effective prompting, specification design and engineering practices
- Work closely with UX designers to transform designs into production-ready applications using AI-assisted workflows
- Help establish and champion AI engineering best practices across the team
- Mentor and uplift engineers through practical knowledge sharing and coaching
- Support software delivery from design through to deployment
- Drive quality outcomes while enabling rapid delivery
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 10 years' professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience developing large-scale enterprise applications
- Proven experience delivering production software using AI-assisted development techniques
- Strong .NET and C# development background
- Experience building modern web-based applications and user interfaces
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT or similar tools
- Exposure to agentic development approaches and specification-driven engineering
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and engineering best practices
- Ability to critically assess AI-generated outputs and identify quality, performance and maintainability concerns
- Demonstrable experience sharing AI best practices and helping teams adopt modern software engineering approaches
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience building AI enablement platforms or development infrastructure
- Experience supporting software deployment and release processes
- Industrial software, manufacturing, automation or operational technology experience
- Experience working with historians, control systems or industrial data platforms
- Exposure to design-to-code workflows and Figma-driven development approaches
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems
