Summary
Senior Network Engineer providing Level 3 escalation support across enterprise LAN/WAN, wireless, and network security for an education-sector client. Day-to-day work spans Cisco routing/switching, routing protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and network automation in a hybrid 2-days-onsite arrangement based in Hawthorn, Melbourne.
- Initial 12-month contract with the potential view to extend

- Experience across SD-Access or NDFC will be highly regarded
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a reputable education client, providing high-level engineering expertise across LAN, WAN, wireless, network security and associated infrastructure. You will work across complex networking projects, troubleshoot critical network issues and help ensure the performance, availability and security of core network services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, support and administration of enterprise LAN, WAN and wireless networks.
- Design, deploy, install and support new networking technologies and infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain and upgrade Cisco routers, switches and associated network hardware.
- Design, implement and manage network security infrastructure, including firewalls, load balancers and VPNs.
- Analyse, diagnose and resolve complex network and connectivity issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot enterprise and internet routing protocols.
- Monitor network security, performance, capacity and utilisation.
- Provide Level 3 escalation support for complex network incidents and problems.
Essential Experience
- Substantial experience designing and managing large multi-site enterprise networks, ideally environments comprising thousands of network nodes.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches and network infrastructure.
- Strong experience configuring and operating Cisco IOS and NX-OS.
- Proven experience designing, deploying and managing enterprise multi-site wireless networks.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise and internet routing protocols, including configuration and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex network performance, connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Experience working across enterprise LAN/WAN and network security environments.
