Senior Planner - Civil Design

An exciting opportunity is available to join Gewalt Hamilton Associates (GHA), an employee-owned, multi-faceted civil engineering and land surveying company that has built a reputation of civil engineering with a personal approach. We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our growing Civil Design team in Vernon Hills, IL.

How you will make an impact:

The Senior Planner will report to the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager and would be in charge of leading a new planning initiative at GHA. This role is an exempt, salary, position. We offer a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Division Director to shape and expand the firm's offerings, market presence, and revenue.
• Coordinate directly with clients and internal teams to ensure successful delivery of projects - on time and within budget - while meeting technical requirements and regulatory standards.
• Support proposal development, pursuit strategies, and relationship-building with clients and consultant partners.
• Identify new business opportunities by maintaining relationships with existing clients and pursuing strategic new partnerships.
• Represent GHA at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to raise visibility and strengthen professional connections.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, supporting a hybrid work environment and helping build team training programs.
• Uphold and contribute to continuous improvement of the Division's Quality Management Plan.
