Senior Product Designer

This front-end and systems-heavy role combines product design, product thinking, and front-end engineering. The designer will turn ambiguous ideas into interactive experiences, scale Alchemy's UI system, own core components and patterns, and improve prototype velocity and UI quality through hands-on building and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build production-quality prototypes and ship production front-end code when appropriate to validate UX direction.
• Own and evolve Alchemy's design system through reusable components, patterns, and interaction primitives.
• Translate design intent into high-quality React and TypeScript UI with strong visual and interaction polish.
• Identify system gaps and ship additions that improve consistency and development speed.
• Partner with product designers to improve the craft and feasibility of design work.
• Collaborate with product engineers to reduce rework and smooth the path from prototype to implementation.
• Improve documentation, examples, and workflows across teams.
• Create interaction patterns and UI foundations for rapid experimentation in AI-driven experiences.
• Contribute to design-system adoption, tokens, components, documentation, accessibility standards, and Storybook tooling.
• Help teams iterate through short idea-to-prototype-to-decision cycles.

Requirements

• Strong front-end fundamentals and experience building interactive UI with React and TypeScript or equivalent stacks.
• Experience shipping and maintaining component libraries or design systems, including tokens, components, documentation, and adoption.
• Strong design judgment covering hierarchy, spacing, typography, interaction details, and visual polish.
• Ability to prototype quickly without sacrificing craft and choose appropriate fidelity.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity with high ownership and speed.
• Clear communication across design and engineering disciplines.
• Accessibility fluency, Storybook or similar tooling, motion or animation experience, and experience scaling design systems are bonuses.
