Senior Security Engineer, Mobile Device Detection
This role focuses on building automated detection and response systems for World ID services, cloud-deployed APIs, mobile devices, and hardware. The engineer will analyze security events, sensor and imaging data, and device security signals while collaborating across teams to improve security and privacy.
Responsibilities
- Detect and respond to intrusion activity against cloud-deployed APIs.
- Design and deliver security detection for tampering and jailbreaking of Android and iOS devices.
- Analyze sensor and imaging data to develop security detections.
- Implement and tune detection rules using cloud logs, especially AWS.
- Participate in on-call incident response and handling.
- Collaborate with peer teams to negotiate and implement security and privacy improvements.
- Scale automated detection and response systems for high-volume identity traffic.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience designing and delivering security detection for tampering, jailbreaking, or other attacks against Android or iOS hardware devices.
- Experience analyzing accelerometer, temperature, and imaging sensor data to create security-relevant detection techniques.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and learn incident handling, or relevant experience.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to negotiate consensus security solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Deep understanding of mobile device security components such as TPM, secure elements, and secure boot is a nice-to-have.
