Position Summary
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of innovative digital solutions that power exceptional member experiences. As a member of the Development Team, you will leverage advanced technical expertise to architect and build cloud-native, microservices-based applications with a strong emphasis on event-driven architecture, modern technology stacks, and emerging AI technologies.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Digital, Data and Analytics, and Platform Engineering to drive innovation and shape the overall technical direction of our digital engineering initiatives.
Contribute to technical direction, mentoring peers, and partnering with architects and product teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Be a hands-on Engineer, who takes ownership of the full software lifecycle from design through deployment and operations, and brings a collaborative, problem-solving mindset to every challenge.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on enterprise-level digital solutions.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, including strong proficiency in asynchronous programming and server-side application development.
2+ years of experience building and deploying cloud-based solutions, with preference for AWS.
Experience with event-driven services and architectures, including message brokers and event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and their practical applications in software development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), particularly deploying and managing microservices on AWS.
Experience with serverless architectures and cloud-native design patterns.
Familiarity with open-source frameworks and modern development tooling.
Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment and contributing to team success.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions under time pressure.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (High School Diploma/GED + 4 years relevant experience).

The typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $185,400.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
