Senior Software Engineer, Banking Connectivity
Work on Ripple's Bank Integrations platform, ensuring data exchanged with external financial institutions is correct, reliable, and continuously available. Scale integrations, improve resilience and observability, support new banking partners and products, and address technical debt affecting reliability and delivery speed.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve mission-critical bank integrations that power Banking Connectivity and money movements at scale
- Develop an end-to-end understanding of payment and banking data flows across internal systems and external partner banks
- Design and deliver testable, resilient, and observable systems operating under real-world banking constraints
- Collaborate with product, operations, and external partners to unblock integrations and accelerate delivery
- Improve system quality through pragmatic enhancements in observability, testing, and resilience
Requirements
- Experience building and supporting reliable backend systems with external integrations, including APIs, webhooks, polling, and file-based flows
- Strong Java experience, including concurrency, failure handling, idempotency, deduplication, and delivery guarantees
- Ability to reason about distributed and asynchronous flows and backend stacks such as AWS, gRPC, RDS, and AMQP
- Self-directed with a strong ownership mindset
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining quality and safety
