Senior Software Engineer, C++
Design and evolve Stellar Core, the distributed engine powering the Stellar ledger and consensus. The role focuses on scalable distributed systems, performance, decentralization, consensus simulation, formal verification, and multi-core optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design and build key components of Stellar Core.
- Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
- Collaborate with the CTO, engineering team, and open-source community on architectures and subsystems.
- Write clean, maintainable, future-proof code with careful edge-case analysis.
- Own core Stellar Core subsystems and support critical product milestones.
- Participate in code review, design, and engineering best practices.
- Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks.
- Author technical feature and protocol RFC specifications.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience on a team.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Production experience writing modern C++ or Rust.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions.
- Understanding of software design patterns and reusable, extensible, modular components.
- Knowledge of development best practices and tools.
- Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems is a bonus.
- Curiosity about blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies is a bonus.
