Senior Software Engineer Java
Own, design, and scale highly available backend systems for a financial ecosystem. Build Java microservices, maintain high test coverage, optimise services for reliability and performance, adopt backend technologies, and provide architectural guidance and code reviews.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Java services
- Write clean and future-proof code
- Maintain 80% unit test coverage
- Conduct end-to-end and integration testing
- Deploy services into an event-driven microservices architecture
- Optimise backend modules and services
- Research and adopt backend technologies
- Provide architectural guidance
- Conduct code reviews
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Java software development
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Understanding of relational databases
- Understanding of non-relational databases
- Experience with Postgres and MongoDB preferred
- Experience creating and maintaining publicly available REST APIs
- Knowledge of message-oriented middleware
- Experience with Apache Kafka or ZeroMQ preferred
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- AWS and Kubernetes experience preferred
