Senior Staff Security Engineer DeFi
This role owns the verification layer between operator intent and blockchain signatures, including signing controls, allowlists, monitoring, protocol reviews, risk management, treasury approval hygiene, reconciliation, and audit-grade documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve signing regimes, signer thresholds, and pre-signature verification workflows.
- Manage canonical address and contract allowlists with documented review for additions.
- Operate monitoring across wallets, custodians, and DeFi positions within SOC 2 incident-response workflows.
- Review new protocol integrations and maintain the risk register.
- Verify ERC-20 approval hygiene and partner with Finance on on-chain reconciliation.
- Produce control, tooling, and decision documentation for auditors, underwriters, and institutional counterparties.
Requirements
- Mastery of Solidity and the EVM, including arbitrary contracts and raw calldata.
- Practical experience with Gnosis Safe, Coinbase Prime, Anchorage, and Fireblocks.
- Strong knowledge of Aave, Morpho, Stargate, risk parameters, oracle structures, and bridge message passing.
- Security-first mindset and commitment to rigorous verification.
- Ability to explain technical risks to non-technical stakeholders and produce audit-grade documentation.
