Senior / Staff Software Engineer - Protocol

Lead development of core blockchain components, including consensus, state management, and protocol layers. Drive performance optimizations and product improvements, refine the REST API with frontend engineers, own team deliverables, and lead large long-term projects.

Responsibilities

• Build the core Sei blockchain, including consensus and state management.
• Identify and drive product optimizations and improvements.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to fine-tune the REST API.
• Own your work and the work of the team.
• Plan and lead large projects with long-term impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proven results building or scaling Layer 1 blockchain performance.
• Experience as a technical lead planning and leading large projects with long-term impact.
• Strong technical grasp and excellent judgment on task prioritization.
• Ability to tackle complex engineering problems that deliver results.
• History of creating and applying processes and tooling to increase engineering efficiency.
