Senior Test Automation Engineer / SDET

Build test infrastructure for a crypto payment platform, including vendor mocks, simulators, contract tests, test data tooling, CI pipelines, reliable test suites, and production-adjacent checks. Create reusable testing frameworks, eliminate flaky tests, coach engineers on effective testing, and support custody, AML, screening, and stablecoin settlement systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build stateful mocks and simulators for third-party vendor APIs.
• Implement contract tests against real vendor sandboxes.
• Build test data and environment tooling.
• Own and optimize CI test pipelines, integration suites, parallelization, and test execution.
• Eliminate flaky tests through quarantine, statistics, and root-cause analysis.
• Create test-writing scaffolding, helper libraries, fixtures, and object builders.
• Document test patterns for AI-assisted test generation.
• Coach engineers on writing effective tests through reviews and pairing.
• Build post-deploy smoke tests and synthetic transactions.
• Automate verification before traffic switches to a service.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a software engineer with substantial test-infrastructure ownership.
• Strong TypeScript skills.
• Experience building test frameworks and harnesses from scratch.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or a modern automation framework.
• Experience designing CI/CD test stages with parallelization and selective test execution.
• API testing and mocking or stubbing of third-party services.
• Daily use of AI coding tools and critical review of AI-generated code.
• Ability to build working knowledge of crypto and stablecoin payment flows on the job.
• High agency and independent prioritization.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Understanding of idempotency, reconciliation, and state machines.
• Experience with contract testing tooling such as Pact.
• Performance and load testing experience.
• Experience in a regulated environment.
• Experience with TestRail or similar test management tooling.
