Senior Web Engineer, Marketing
You will rethink web production by evaluating and evolving the WordPress and Gutenberg stack. You will design reusable infrastructure, templates, and workflows, collaborate with designers and stakeholders, translate business needs into scalable solutions, use AI-powered development tools, and own delivery from scoping through launch. You will also maintain a fast, responsive, accessible, secure, and cross-browser-compatible website.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and evolve the WordPress and Gutenberg stack
- Design reusable infrastructure, templates, and workflows
- Collaborate with designers and stakeholders on scalable web solutions
- Translate business needs into technical approaches
- Apply accessibility, performance, SEO, and maintainability standards
- Use AI-powered tools to accelerate web production
- Scope and estimate work and communicate timelines
- Maintain a performant, responsive, accessible, secure, and cross-browser-compatible website
Requirements
- Strong HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and React skills
- Experience with headless or API-driven architectures
- Experience with WordPress and Gutenberg, including custom post types, taxonomies, hooks, and REST API
- Experience working with security teams
- Experience with WP Engine or similar managed hosting platforms
- Experience independently handling architectural shifts, systems decisions, and migrations
- Daily experience using AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, v0, Bolt, or Claude
- Experience building component libraries, templates, documentation, and guardrails
- Project management and cross-disciplinary communication skills
