Software Engineer - AI Native
Our client is a modern developer platform transforming legacy logistics infrastructure. Their unified API simplifies high-volume B2B supply chain data exchange, allowing enterprises to connect once and effortlessly transmit standard commerce transactions - like orders, invoices, and shipment tracking - across a rapidly expanding global network of trading partners.
They are growing rapidly and continually looking for top-notch talent to join their team. Ideal candidates have a desire to be a part of building something unique and important, with a strong curiosity to learn and grow.
Position Description
Their Software Engineers own the implementation of features and modules across the platform. You'll take well-defined and sometimes ambiguous problems, design and build solutions, and see them through to production - increasingly with AI coding agents as part of your daily workflow. You'll write and review code, contribute to technical designs, and grow toward owning larger, more complex areas over time. This is a hands-on building role with a clear path to senior.
Please note that this is an active posting for an open position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Building & Delivery
- Understand the problem before the code: what the customer is trying to do, why it matters to the business, and what "done" really looks like. The more of the work agents take on, the more your value comes from carrying that context.
- Build and modify code to meet those requirements - from well-defined tasks through to increasingly ambiguous ones - and deliver high-quality, well-tested changes.
- Use AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code and comparable tools) as a normal part of how you work, and review their output critically before it ships - spotting the subtle correctness, security, and design issues that generated code can hide.
- Grow your fluency with the tools themselves: how memory, knowledge, and context shape what an agent does, and how to use that to get better results. Understanding the model is fundamental here, much like understanding HTTP is fundamental to building good web services.
- Write and maintain automated tests, and help keep reliability high as the team ships faster.
- Troubleshoot bugs and customer issues while building a solid understanding of the codebase and domain; diagnose issues with clear reproductions, logging, and tracing.
- Contribute to the technical design of features, and author designs for mid-sized pieces of work.
- Break requirements down into functional work, identify dependencies, and give reasonable estimates.
- Communicate clearly with your team and stakeholders - sharing context, status, and the theories and failed attempts that help others help you.
- Work with product to make sure what you build serves real user needs.
- Manage your own tasks, tickets, and communication reliably, and take ownership of the features and modules you build.
- Analyze relevant metrics and suggest improvements; understand the key measures for your work.
- Actively grow your craft - including how to work effectively and safely with AI tooling - and share what you learn with the team.
- Core Knowledge: Solid experience with Node.js, React, JavaScript & TypeScript, and building APIs/services.
- Database Skills: Working proficiency with relational and/or non-relational databases.
- Software Quality: Comfort with testing, CI/CD, and good documentation habits.
- Building with AI: Experience using - or a strong, demonstrable drive to use - AI coding agents in your day-to-day development.
- Nice-to-Haves: Familiarity with distributed systems or messaging/event systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka), NestJS, Nx, AWS, MCP / agent tooling, or experience with EDI.
