Software Engineer Backend
Design, build, test, and deploy core on-chain and backend systems for a perpetual exchange, including exchange logic, risk systems, low-latency infrastructure, developer tooling, and Solana smart contracts in Rust.
Responsibilities
- Build core exchange logic for markets, users, collateral, fees, and order routing
- Implement liquidity sources, on-chain matching, margining, liquidation, and risk enforcement
- Help design the end-to-end architecture of a perpetuals exchange
- Ensure on-chain and off-chain systems operate as a cohesive low-latency stack
- Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and compute efficiency
- Write thorough tests and maintain living documentation
- Improve developer tooling and onboarding
- Design, implement, and deploy production-grade Solana smart contracts in Rust
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Rust proficiency or willingness to learn Rust
- Backend fundamentals including APIs, distributed systems, and async systems
- Experience with low-latency or performance-sensitive systems
- Familiarity with DeFi, trading systems, or derivatives
- Ownership mindset and comfort working in an early-stage environment
- English communication skills
