Software Engineer III, Amazon Leo - Network Observability and AI Foundations
Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world — from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies.
The Leo Network Observability team designs, implements and operates the software stack to manage beam planning, network health views, data plane services and Applications with AI native initiatives that provides a high throughput telecom service comprised of Low Earth Orbit satellites, customer terminals, gateways, cloud services and terrestrial network infrastructure that connects into public and private networks.
We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to serve as the technical leader for Network Observability and AI foundational solutions for an advanced global telecom service via both space and terrestrial networks.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
*Architect and deliver a scalable, end-to-end platform supporting network observability.
*Design and implement distributed orchestration systems that coordinate across dozens of domain-specific internal and external services, ensuring reliable end-to-end workflow execution at scale.
* Establish the AI/ML foundation layer, including knowledge base architectures and intelligent automation frameworks, to accelerate developer productivity and reduce time-to-market.
* Tackle novel, ambiguous technical challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence, large-scale distributed systems, and network domain complexity, delivering production-grade solutions with high operational bar.
A day in the life
As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE III) on the Network Observability team, you will own the design, development, and technical leadership of end-to-end system that provides network health, monitoring and alerting at region, cell and individual customer terminal levels, spanning requirements definition, implementation, test automation, and production validation. You will enable Amazon Leo to launch highly available internet service across 100+ global markets.
