Software Engineer Internship (2027 Start)

Work alongside mentors and teammates to develop and optimize Optiver’s real-time trading systems, solve engineering problems, and learn how requirements and feedback shape production software.

Responsibilities

• Build a foundation in trading fundamentals
• Design, develop, test, and ship code to production
• Enhance trading systems
• Solve complex real-world engineering problems
• Work with engineers and traders to understand requirements
• Respond to feedback and improve systems

Requirements

• Penultimate-year student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Ability to work full time upon graduation in 2028
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or Java
• Understanding of computer architecture and system operations
• Interest in the financial industry
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Right to work in the UK for the full internship duration
