Software Engineer - PostgresSQL
Build tooling and services for Adyen's SQL database platform, automate operational tasks, investigate performance bottlenecks across kernels, networks, and databases, create internal developer tools, and participate in on-call operations. The role works with distributed systems, infrastructure, databases, and automated failure recovery.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop database platform tooling and services
- Automate manual operational tasks
- Investigate kernel, network, and database performance bottlenecks
- Analyze metrics, traces, and logs in distributed environments
- Build internal developer tooling
- Support database failure detection and automatic recovery
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Perform root-cause analysis
- Build permanent operational fixes
- Collaborate with Compute, Networking, and Storage teams
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Linux networking, file systems, and kernel tuning
- Knowledge of distributed systems principles
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go
- Ability to develop clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Operational database experience at scale
- PostgreSQL or similar database knowledge
- Root-cause analysis skills
- Infrastructure automation experience
- Ability to communicate complex infrastructure concepts
- OpenStack or bare metal experience
- Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet
- Vault familiarity
- Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK experience
