Software Test Engineer

Software Test Engineer role focused on testing embedded devices, firmware, and supporting software using Python and Pytest, with both automated and manual testing, hardware/software integration, and use of debugging/measurement tools like Wireshark and oscilloscopes.
My client is an Australian company based in Brisbane and they're looking for an experienced tester with a proven commercial background testing Embedded devices, firmware, and supporting software, using Python and Pytest.
Responsibilities:
Design and document automated and manual tests for embedded devices to verify functionality, performance and reliability.
Configure and maintain physical test beds containing embedded controllers, communication interfaces, measurement equipment, and supporting applications.
Perform hardware, firmware, and software integration testing, manual black-box validation, exploratory testing, and defect reproduction and verification.
Test communications over Ethernet, serial, and other embedded-device interfaces, including behaviour involving timing constraints, protocol sequencing, concurrency, and error handling.
Use debugging and measurement tools such as Wireshark, serial and USB packet monitors, debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analysers to investigate failures and validate behaviour.
The role is a permanent one and once your probation period is complete then there will be an option for hybrid working, typically this would involve being in the office 3 days a week and from home the other 2.
