Sr. Data Engineer
As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will design and operationalize the modern data platform powering analytics, trading tools, and AI initiatives. You will provide the platform, tools, and infrastructure needed to deliver scalable, reliable, and real-time data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and data lake architecture for batch and real-time streaming use cases.
- Improve observability, alerting, and SLOs across data systems.
- Optimize ETL/ELT workflows for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Develop dbt workflows to onboard Evaluation Partners and create end-of-day reporting.
- Build and support event-driven architectures and scalable platform components.
- Contribute to workflow orchestration and automation.
- Integrate financial APIs and third-party data sources into internal systems.
- Collaborate with analytics, product, and ML engineers to develop reliable data products.
- Build feature pipelines and model-ready data for ML engineers.
- Promote high standards in code quality, testing, and platform reliability.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and foster a collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or backend development.
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with GCP data products such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage.
- Experience with AWS services including S3, Glue, Athena, and Kinesis; EMR is a bonus.
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, Terraform, or GitOps.
- Hands-on dbt experience with models, tests, macros, documentation, and CI.
- Proficiency with Airflow or Prefect.
- Knowledge of data lake architecture, Parquet, Avro, and Apache Iceberg.
- Familiarity with event-driven and service-oriented architecture.
- Track record of building automated, tested, and observable data systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
