Staff Software Engineer, FCM
Serve as technical domain owner for NinjaTrader's Transaction Ledger and Treasury systems within its FCM platform, owning financial correctness, reconciliation integrity, system-of-record architecture, cloud-native modernization, and responsible AI-assisted engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the foundational GCP/Kubernetes architecture for the cloud-native FCM platform.
- Architect high-throughput trade systems with deterministic behavior under concurrency, partial failure, and asynchronous clearing.
- Lead code reviews, architecture sessions, pairing, and technical direction for the FCM engineering team.
- Establish API, testing, observability, SLI/SLO, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code standards.
- Define engineering excellence standards for regulated financial systems.
- Champion responsible AI-assisted coding, testing, and code review workflows.
- Design compliance-critical systems with audit trails, segregation controls, and compliance checkpoints.
- Govern ledger architecture, data models, fund movement APIs, reconciliation workflows, and cross-service balances.
- Represent the platform in cross-functional architecture forums.
- Own complex technical initiatives from problem framing through operational maturity.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of progressive software engineering experience with Staff-level impact.
- Expertise designing and operating large-scale distributed cloud systems.
- Experience with Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, and Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Strong proficiency in Python, C++, Go, or similar backend languages.
- Experience with AI-assisted development, static analysis, and automated test synthesis.
- Experience in financial services, capital markets, or brokerage technology, including trade lifecycle, clearing, and settlement.
- Track record as a technical authority and mentor.
- Experience with financial correctness, reconciliation, segregation of funds, and audit integrity constraints.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- End-to-end ownership of initiatives from design through deployment and operational maturity.
